John Harmon Lackey, Sr., age 87, of Cherryville, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Mr. Lackey was born September 26, 1935, in Lincoln County, to the late Hershel and Sarah “Inez” Harmon Lackey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Lackey and Jerry Lackey; son-in-law, David Propst; and grandson, Jason Harmon Lowe. He worked as a sales representative for Purser Oils.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Louise Biggerstaff Lackey of the home; two sons, John Harmon Lackey, Jr. and Daniel Robert Lackey; daughter, Debra Lackey Propst (fiancé, Kenneth Morgan); four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held.
