Roy "Allen" Poovey

Roy “Allen” Poovey, age 76, of Lincolnton, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Marcus Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. on Sunday in the Fellowship Hall.
“Allen” was born December 10, 1945, in Lincoln County, to the late Lee Roy Poovey and Lois Goodman Poovey. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and would later work in insulation installation.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife, Clarice Heavner Poovey of the home; children, Amy Gardner, Ryan Poovey (Haley), and Candace Poovey Hyde (Clint), all of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Will Gardner, Yates and Harper Poovey, and Oaklyn Hyde; and half-sister, Patricia Ballard.
Memorials may be made to Bethphage Lutheran Church, 3440 Highway 182, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
