Melanie Joann Houser Woodie
( January 18, 1960 - September 27, 2022 )
Melanie Joann Houser Woodie, age 62, of Lincolnton, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at New Faith Baptist Church, 1224 Mayberry Road in Dallas, with Preacher Jared Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton, but her final place of Joy will be in Heaven with her Heavenly Father. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the church prior to the service.
Melanie was born January 18, 1960, in Lincoln County, to Joann Houser. She worked as a teacher’s assistant for Lincoln County Schools.
Melanie is survived by her husband and “BESTIE” of 42 years, Daniel Woodie of the home; daughter, Amy Patterson (Walter Patterson, II) of Lincolnton; son, Keith Woodie (Shaina) of Cornelius; two grandchildren, Natalie and Nathaniel Patterson of Lincolnton; her mother and stepfather, Joann Leonard and Danny Walker; and three brothers, Jason, Todd and Mark, and their families.
She finished her fight of 14 years of cancer, which included four stage IV diagnoses, showing how courageous of a fighter she was. Melanie was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church and has recently been a part of New Faith Baptist Church in Dallas for over two decades.
As a way to allow everyone to be a part of a memorial for a very special lady, a fund will be started to lace a marker at her graveside. Please contact Amy Patterson or Keith Woodie for more information.
