Douglas Richard Smith, age 80, of Hunter Fields Court in Lincolnton passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
Mr. Smith was born on July 19, 1942 in Three Rivers, Michigan to the late Clark and Edith Skibbe Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Smith; one nephew, Jeffery Smith. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during Vietnam. He was retired from American Tire where he worked as a corporate facilities manager.
He was a NASCAR enthusiast and was involved with the Richard Petty Race team for a short period. He also served on the Lincoln County Planning Board.
He is survived by his wife, Kristene Miller Smith of the home: one nephew, Richard Smith of Orange, CA; sister-in-law, Linda Smith of Denver, CO.
There are no services planned at this time for Mr. Smith.
