Wilma Sue Powell Brendle

Wilma Sue Powell Brendle, age 91, of Reeps Grove Church Road in Vale, died on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church with Hospice Chaplain Chris Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sue was born December 25, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late James Henry Powell and Essie Lee Houser Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Brendle.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Yount (Bruce) of Vale; son, Rustin P. “Rusty” Brendle of Vale; two grandchildren, Alison Yount of Moore, SC, and Emily Yount Merkerson (Nicosia) of Raleigh; two great-grandchildren, Daffodil and Schaefer Merkerson; sister, Merle Powell Beal of Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to the charity of one’s choice.
