Dorothea "Dottie" Helms Morrison

Dorothea “Dottie” Helms Morrison, age 83, of James Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Dan Farnsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will gather at the home of the daughter, Janeen Howard at 221 James Street in Lincolnton.
“Dottie” was born February 28, 1939, in Gaston County, to the late Clarence and Vernia Moses Helms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse “JF” Franklin Morrison, and a son, Eddie Morrison.
She is survived by daughters, Andrea Dawn Gaston (Gary), and Jacqueline Janeen Howard (Marty), and Jennifer Clement (Michael) all of Lincolnton; brothers, Harold Helms (Gail), Ray Helms, Willard Helms and Steve Helms (Karen), all of Catawba; grandchildren, Tyler Howard (Kristen), Daniel Morrison; and great-grandchildren, Kirsten Clement, Natalie, Ally Kate, and Easton Howard, Brianna Dellinger, and Jeffrey Morrison.
Memorials may be made to Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church, 1462 Leonard’s Fork Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, Southside Baptist Church, 1725 Southside Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Levine and Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
