Harvey Andrew Jonas, 68, of Lincolnton died Feb. 8, 2022, at Peak Resources in Cherryville, NC.
Born April 9, 1954 in Lincolnton, NC, Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Celeste Jonas, and a sister, Susan A. Jonas Jenkins Chapman. He is survived by his sister, Anna Jonas Fortenberry (Ken) of Boone, NC, three nieces and four nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, several cousins and one uncle.
Andy was a 1972 graduate of Lincolnton High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He loved his childhood friends in Lincolnton and his horse-riding family at the Ponderosa. He was an avid hiker at South Mountain and enjoyed the outdoors.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in his memory to National Alliance on Mental Illness, 309 W. Millbrook Rd, Suite 121, Raleigh, NC 27609
