Ruth Jean Whitman Taylor

Ruth Jean Whitman Taylor, age 90, of N. Lincoln Street in High Shoals, died on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at High Shoals Church of God with Rev. Billy Dunigan and Rev. Dan Carter officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Masks are required at all times for all services.
Mrs. Taylor was born February 27, 1931, in Gaston County, to the late Paul Garland Whitman and Hattie Starkey Whitman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Walter Taylor, Jr.; siblings, Buck Starkey, Joann Hepler, Frances Jones, and Hazel Leguire; and granddaughter, Christy Reeves.
She is survived by her sons, Steven Taylor and Steven Taylor, Jr., both of Supply, NC, and Ricky W. Taylor of High Shoals; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
