Russell Herman Weiss

Russell Herman Weiss, age 80, of Teakwood Drive in Sherrills Ford, died on Monday, December 6, 2021.
His funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with DAV military honors. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Weiss was born May 22, 1941, in Lindside, West Virginia, to the late Wade Herman Weiss and Alice Burks Weiss. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Simmons and Nila Elmore. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and later worked as a truck driver for W & L Motor Lines.
He is survived by his wife, Lollie Sue Wright Weiss of the home; children, Christopher Weiss (Sarah) of Lincolnton, Sandra Hamrick (Michael) of Kings Mountain, Becky Gibson of Catawba County, Clayton Wilson (Karen) of Kernersville, Charles Timothy Wilson (Karen) of Kernersville, Elaine Freeman of High Point, and Donna Wilson (Bill) of Kernersville; brothers, William Weiss (Vanessa) of Maiden, Thomas Weiss of West Virginia, and Carl Weiss of West Virginia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
