Della Mae Smith

Della Mae Smith, age 84, of Lincolnton passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. She was born March 8, 1937, in Lincoln County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Fred Smith and Vergie Cook Smith.
Ms. Smith is survived by her son, Dr. Timothy Smith, and wife, Stephanie of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Helen Finger of Lincolnton; a granddaughter, Meghan Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Ray Cook; and daughter, Susan Michelle Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Young officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In honor of Ms. Smith’s love for the well-being of animals, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Lincoln County, P.O. Box 23, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
