Sara Aileen Canipe Smith

Sara Aileen Canipe Smith, age 86, of Macedonia Church Road in Vale, died on Sunday, November 21, 2021.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Roger McSwain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p .m. prior to the service at the church.
Sara was born September 23, 1935, in Lincoln County, to the late Wesley Pound Canipe and Maude Bivens Canipe. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lee Smith; son, Bobby Lee Smith; and granddaughter, Donna Jill Simmons.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Ray Smith (Kim) of Hickory; daughters, Dot Bridges (Steve), Sandra Leatherman (Dennis), and Sue Smith, all of Vale; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of half-sisters.
