Ruth Taylor Shuford

Ruth Taylor Shuford, age 100, of Carolina Circle in Lincolnton passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021. She was born June 20, 1921 in Watauga County, NC, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Taylor and Dicey Ann Dunn Taylor.
Ms. Shuford is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Long House of Texas; sister, Helen Grzesiak of Lincolnton, NC; granddaughter, Lynn Scanlon and husband Patrick of Texas; great grandson, Richard Patrick Baker and wife Jennifer of Texas; and great-great grandson, Zeke Atlas Baker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Harris Shuford; son, Jerry Long; siblings Nancy Stamey, Ruby Beal, Arlee Seagle, Ralph “Sonny” Taylor, and Grover Cleveland “Junior” Taylor; and grandchildren, Sherry House, and Samuel Scott House.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Living Word Church, Maiden, NC, with Rev. Brad Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincoln County Christian Ministries, P.O. Box 423, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
