Frances Horne Love
( January 21, 1936 - October 6, 2021 )
Frances Horne Love, age 85 of Sherrills Ford, NC died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, due to long term illness.
Her funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Newton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.
Mrs. Love was born January 21, 1936, in Fort Blackmore, Va. to the late William Ray and Gladys Counts Horne. She was the oldest of siblings William Joseph Horne, Paul Ray Horne, Betty Newton, Judy Martin, and David Lee Horne. She was the loving wife of William Duncan Love of Charlotte, N.C. for 64 years. She attended Charlotte College and CPCC. She worked at Southern Bell and American Trust Bank but was primarily a homemaker. She loved raising children - helping raise two nieces and one grand-niece, adopting one daughter, and foster parent of four. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church Huntersville and more recently Denver Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter and active member of the Peacemakers Quilt Guild of Lincolnton, N.C.
She is survived by her husband William Duncan Love; children William Haskell Love (Alana), Donnie Ray Love (Vickie), and Jada Love Loveless (Robb); grandchildren Savanna Marie Love (Chris Ritenour), William Paul Love, Amy Love Harvell (Robert), Kara Michelle Love, William Tyler Love, and Robert William Loveless; great grandchildren Arabella Love Ritenour, Elijah James William Harvell, Liana Marie Ritenour, and Liam Bryson Harvell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her five siblings, and one grandchild, William Paul Love.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
