Albert "Buck" Marvin Watson, Jr.

Albert “Buck” Marvin Watson, Jr., age 83, of Caprice Circle in Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Covenant Church with Rev. Mike Devine, Rev. Jesse Sours, and Carol Cearley officiating.  

“Buck” was born January 7, 1938, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Albert Marvin Watson, Sr. and Christine Thaggard Watson.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his baby brother, Joseph Grady Watson.  A 1956 graduate of Dallas High School, he was an outstanding baseball player, as well as football and basketball.  He played Legion ball and semi-pro baseball.  Mr. Watson served in the United States Army, and retired as Chief Information Officer from the Charles Owen Company in Swannanoa, NC.  

“Buck” had a love for flying.  He was a pilot and was always available to fly those in need to where they were needed in times of crisis, he had a love for people and enjoyed serving others.  He and Janice enjoyed traveling, especially to the New England states.  

Those surviving him include his wife, Janice Ann Lee Watson of the home; son, Albert Marvin Watson, III of Mt. Holly; daughter, Angela Watson Garner (Marc) of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Logan Watson and Zach Garner; brother, Kenneth Watson (Cindy) of Clemmons, NC; sisters, Sandra Watson McPherson of Gastonia, and Stephanie Watson Kelly (Randy) of Franklin, TN; special cousin, Joni Deditch of Floyd, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other cousins.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
