Willie Thomas Helms

Willie Thomas Helms, age 82, of Alf Hoover Road in Vale, died on Monday, September 27, 2021.
His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Matthews and Pastor Freddie Helms officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:15 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Helms was born September 20, 1939, in Catawba County, to the late Frank and Laura Jane Helms. He was the owner/operator of Willie Helms Concrete Finishing, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Jane Bridges Helms of the home; two daughters, Janie Sue Norwood of Vale, and Rachel Kay Carpenter, and husband Gregory, of Denver; sister, Emma Carpenter of Vale; two grandchildren, Thomas Kelly Phillips and Paul Hamilton Phillips; one great-granddaughter, Anna Leigh Brenda Phillips; and one step-grandson, Caleb Ryan Carpenter.
