Mamie-Clara Taylor Baker

Mamie-Clara Taylor Baker, age 94, of Sharon Towers in Charlotte passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Mrs. Baker was born on June 2, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Rev. Eben Taylor and Elsie Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Baker, her daughter Dr. Carol Ann Baker-Tharp, her brother Eben and her sister Ann. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of College of Charleston and worked as a chemist with West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company of Charleston before raising her family in Charlotte.
She is survived by her two sons, Kerry (Cathy) of Harrisburg, NC and Chuck (Jackie) of Gastonia, NC; a son-in-law, Michael Tharp of Los Angeles CA; six grandchildren including Matthew (Liz), Kyle (Amanda), Brian (Michael), Claire (Caleb) Moore, Brandon (Pamela), and Lauren (Zach) Grier, and eleven great-grandchildren, Connor, Jack, Brooks, Emi, Teddy, Gemma (and one due in January), Charlie, Zhenning, Max, and Cameron.
Due to health concerns related to the pandemic, a private memorial service for family will be held at the columbarium of Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
