Jimmie Earl Jones

Jimmie Earl Jones, age 87, of Bexley Lane in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marcus Redding officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jimmie was born July 15, 1934, in Rutherford County, to the late Lawrence Clinton Jones and Onie Bland Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Smith Jones; son-in-law, Jimmy Grigg; grandson, Justin Grigg; granddaughter, Jenna Richard; brothers, Jack Jones, Donald Jones, and Jake Jones; and sister, Jenny Beal. Jimmie served in the United States Army. He later became a police officer and retired with the rank of Sergeant.
He is survived by a son, Charles David Jones, and wife Annette, of Cherryville; daughter, Lavon Richard, and husband Dayton, of Lincolnton; four brothers, Larry Jones of Cherryville, Johnny Jones, Dean Jones, and Jesse Jones, all of Lincolnton; a sister, Joanne Leonard of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Travis Jones, and wife Dana, Jesse Jones, and wife Jenn, and Shannon Richard Williams, and husband Samuel; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail Jones and Makayla Williams.
