Martha Jane Yoder Choate

Martha Jane Yoder Choate, age 80, of 7019 Houser Farm Road in Vale, died on Sunday, July 4, 2021.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Warlick Funeral Home. After receiving of friends, the family will gather at the home, 7019 Houser Farm Road, Vale, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
Ms. Choate was born July 18, 1940, in Cleveland County, to the late Ralph Lamar Yoder, Sr. and Madge Harrelson Yoder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Page Choate; and brothers, Ralph Lamar Yoder, Jr. and Ronald Patrick Yoder.
Jane was an avid sportswoman, especially loving tennis and golf. She was an artist, a career educator, sports coach, and avid reader, and in her later years found joy with her animals and reconnecting with former students.
She is survived by daughters, Jennifer Choate Suttle (Sam), Marcy Choate Eaker (Chris), and Leslie Choate Houser (Dan); grandchildren, Sam Suttle, Jr. (Heather), Olivia Margaret Suttle, William Stuart Suttle (Tara), Hannah Claire Dedmon, Chaney Nicole Dedmon (Graham), Rachel Estelle Dedmon, Zachary Thomas Eaker, William Alexander Eaker, Abigail Jewel Eaker, Trey Houser (Hannah), Robert Tanner Boltin, and Grace Anna Houser; great-grandchildren, Callaway, Jackson, and Barrett; beloved caregiver, Susan Nugent of Vale; and fur babies, Bogie and Cici.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
