Mary Ann Dellinger Gallman
( June 1, 1922 - June 22, 2021 )
Mary Ann Dellinger Gallman, 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2021.

A memorial service will be held on June 26, 2021, at 2 pm at Denver Baptist Church in Denver, NC.  There will be a viewing of the body and a slide presentation of highlights of Mary’s life for 45 minutes prior to the memorial service, beginning at 1:15pm.  A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, immediately following the memorial service.

Mary was born on June 1, 1922, at the historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville, where the family tended the crops of cotton grown there at the time.  She was the youngest of twelve children born to Dalton and Nancy Dellinger, who taught their children to love God, to help others, and to work diligently.

Mary married John Gallman, her childhood sweetheart, on July 12, 1939. They had 2 children, Donna (Dave) Gates and Robert (Karen) Gallman.  She also had 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mary and John spent most of their lives in Charlotte and the Lake Norman area of NC.

She was a member of Denver Baptist Church and was active in many of their programs during her years there.

Her interests included family, gardening, cooking, quilting, church activities, and support of missions and service ministries. She devoted much of her time and energy to hospitality and to providing a helping hand or a listening ear to others.

Mary is survived by her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   Mary’s life was one of strong faith, deep love, and an ever-present smile.  She will be sorely missed, but her sweet spirit lives on in the lives of everyone she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her son, Robert.

Memorials may be sent to Denver Baptist Church, Mission Scholarships, 6917 Forest Hills Drive, Denver, NC  28037.
