Helen Glover Stallings Phillips

Helen Glover Stallings Phillips, age 95, born May 20, 1925, in Gaston County, daughter of the late R.H. Sr. and Nancy Reynolds Glover.
Ms. Phillips was a member of River View Baptist Church, Lincolnton NC. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by both husbands, Bill Stallings and Lloyd W. Phillips; five sisters, Elizabeth Glover, Elise Maples, Marion Williams, Blanche Ellis, and Vera May James; four brothers, Herbert, Andrew, R.H. Jr. (Buck), and Carl; and a granddaughter, Wendy Day Scott.
Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Shirley Stallings of Gastonia, NC; daughters, Nancy Maddox of Houston, TX, Benita Blair Phillips of Gastonia, NC, and daughter and son-in-law, Vera Ann and Chris Poole of Lincolnton, NC; six grandchildren, Rhonda Payne (and husband Rick) of Bessemer City, NC, Tammy Lewis and Greg Stallings, both of Gastonia, NC, Douglas Scott of Houston, TX, Joshua Aaron Poole of Washington, DC, and Kelsey Poole Austin (and husband Matthew) of Conover, NC; seven great-grandchildren, Tiffany Costner (and husband Cameron) of Cramerton, NC, Zachary and Taylor Payne, both of Bessemer City, NC, Hailey Lewis of Gastonia, NC, Autumn and Amber Taylor of Friendswood, TX, and Alfredo Leal of Humble, TX; and one great-great-grandchild, Beckham James Costner.
The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care Lincoln County, especially Carrie Catlin, Abby Withers and Staci Shafer, for overseeing the care of “Nanny” for 14 months. We could not have gone through this journey without your guidance, support, and love.
Burial will be private in Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia, NC.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at River View Baptist Church in Lincolnton.
