James Donald Devine
( January 28, 1928 - January 22, 2021 )
James Donald Devine, age 91, of East Highway 27, Iron Station passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021 in the Iron Station Cemetery with Rev. Mike Devine officiating.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Iron Station United Methodist Church.

Don was born on January 28, 1929 and was the son of the late Craig W. and Lillian Abernethy Devine.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Drum, and three brothers, D. Jack Devine, Joe Devine and Dean Devine. Don retired as a plant engineer with J.P. Stevens in Stanley and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Robinson Devine of the home; two daughters, Donna Norwood and husband, Doug of Sherrills Ford and Robin Goodson and husband, Fred of Pumpkin Center; one brother, Buck Devine of Lincolnton; two sisters, Dottie Williams of Lincolnton and Patsy Alexander of Kings Bay, GA; five grandchildren, James, Adam, Shannon, Brooke and Lindsey; eight great-grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Sydney, Saylem, Sawyer, Carter, Cody, Lainey and “Bo”.
