Ernest Ghant, Sr.

Ernest Ray Ghant, Sr., age 74 of Startown Road in Lincolnton, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, October 29, 2020.
Mr. Ghant was born September 17, 1946, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late Sam Allen Ghant and Eva Mae Wright. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by two sisters, Dorothy Arevalo, and Mildred Freeman; and three brothers, Fred Wright, Robert Wright, and Odell Wright. He worked in the construction industry.
Ernest enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping. He was a wonderful husband and father and even greater grandfather. He was proud of his family and loved fiercely. Ernest had a quick wit and enjoyed making others laugh. He will surely be missed.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Houser Ghant of the home; two sons, Ernie Ghant, Jr., and wife Kim, of Asheville, and Michael Ghant, and wife April, of Blacksburg, SC; five grandchildren, Wes and Ben, David, Jillian, and Madalyn Ghant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be planned for a later date.
