Fred Ernest Smith, Jr.

Mr. Fred Ernest Smith, Jr., age 70 of Rock Hill Lane in Lincolnton passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Plot. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 on Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Smith was born on August 1, 1950 in Cleveland County to the late Fred Ernest Smith, Sr. and Annie Ruth Peeler Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Byers. Mr. Smith was retired from the furniture industry. He had a passion for hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy A. Smith of the home; one daughter, Amanda Denise Smith Berryhill and her husband Shawn of Union Mills, NC; two sisters, Nancy McNeely and her husband Larry of Cherryville and Sue Crouse and her husband Ray of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Samuel Thomas Berryhill and his wife Katelynn, Scarlett Victoria Berryhill, Joshua Lee Berryhill, Levi Jackson Berryhill and Ona Grace Berryhill; three great grandchildren, Jackson Noah Berryhill, Colton Able Berryhill and Franklin David Berryhill; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
