Ruby Harkey Cook

Ruby Harkey Cook, age 91, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, August 9, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating. The body will lie in state from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home. The family will not be present during this time.
Ms. Cook was born December 15, 1928, in Lincoln County, to the late Fletcher and Novella Speagle Harkey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Lester Cook; a brother, Hugh Harkey; daughter-in-law, Elaine Cook; and son-in-law, Tony Richard. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Cook of Crouse; a daughter, Brenda Richard of Stanley; two sisters, Geneva Hoffman and Jane Scronce, both of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Jason Cook (Lisa), and Justin Cook (Cheyenne); and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Cook and Keaton Cook.
