Alda Sue "Susie" Wilkinson Houk
( August 27, 1948 - July 14, 2020 )
Susie Houk passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and other health issues. She was surrounded by her family, friends, and her “fur baby” Andy. She was a 1966 graduate of Lincolnton High School and the oldest daughter of Robert D. Wilkinson, Jr., and Dorothy Johnson Dellinger who preceded her in death, as well as her stepfather, Coleman Dellinger.
Susie had a great passion and love for her family ancestry and history. She spent much of her free time researching, collecting and visiting family and historical sites in the area. She deeply loved her family, friends, extended family, and most of all, her three grandsons, Owen, Gavin and Evan Ellis. They were her pride and joy and what she was most proud of.
Susie is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Rick” Houk; son, Justin Ellis, and wife Julie, and their three sons, Owen, Gavin and Evan; sister, Debbie Woods, and husband Bill, and their son, Tyler; brother, Ken Wilkinson, and wife Shirley, and their sons Jake and Ethan; cousins; and many friends that will miss her dearly.
The family would like to thank the wonderful Hospice team from Lincolnton for their care and support, especially Cassandra and Amy, and also Debra Huss, her neighbor and friend.

The family will hold a private service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
