Dolores Isabell LaRue Wood

Dolores Isabell LaRue Wood, age 93, of Burton Wood Lane in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family. A memorial service will be held at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church at a later date, which will be announced.
Mrs. Wood was born July 26, 1926, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late James Isaac LaRue and Mary Isabele Winkler LaRue. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Craig Luther Wood, Sr.; a son, Craig Luther Wood, Jr.; and a grandson, Craig Luther Wood, III. She worked in textiles for a brief time, but most of her time was dedicated to being owner/operator of the Wood family farm.
She is survived by two sons, James Burton Wood (Mitsuko), and Joseph Vincent Wood (Kyong), all of Lincolnton; a daughter, Betty LaRue Wood Chu (Johnson) of Hoboken, NJ; six grandchildren, Garrett Chu of Hoboken, NJ, Maria Wood and Mary Wood of Lincolnton, David Wood and Stephen Wood of Savannah, GA, and Christopher Wood of Los Angeles, CA; two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Kiley; daughter-in-law, Deborah Newton Wood of Savannah, GA; and a nephew, James Melvin LaRue of La Mesa, CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
