Charles William Greene
( November 20, 1952 - March 15, 2020 )
Charles William Greene, age 67, of 247 Trey Trail in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Covenant Church with Rev. Mike Devine and Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Charlie was born November 20, 1952, in Rutherford County, to the late Dennis Alton Greene and Marie Thomas Greene. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Michael Greene. He was a teacher and coach at RS Central High School, Rutherfordton, NC, from 1975 to 1977. He retired after thirty years with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in 2003. He taught school and coached at Lincoln-Catawba Christian Academy from 2003 to 2009. He was currently serving as Captain with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Neely Greene of the home; a daughter, Haley Greene Hester, and husband Luke, of Lincolnton; a son, Heath Greene, and wife Jillian Michele Greene, of Shelby; and one grandson, Ryker Hester.
