Matthew Douglas Saunders, born November 19, 1978 in Welch, WV, closed his eyes in peace February 17, 2020.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private, immediate family only. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
He had a true love for motorcycles, adventurous spirit, and loved nature. He was very loving and loyal, as well as very tender hearted. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Saunders of Lincolnton; grandparents, Dave and Elizabeth Saunders of War, WV, and grandmother, Shirley Johnson of Laurens, SC.
He is survived by his children, Gabriel Alexander Lee Saunders and Joseph Lee Saunders of Connelly Springs, NC; father, Larry Douglas Saunders of Lincolnton; mother, Sharon Kaye Saunders of Laurens, SC; sisters, Stephanie Saunders of Lincolnton and Beth Williams of Supply; brother Abram Lee Saunders and wife Kady of Lincolnton; grandfather, Jack Johnson of Laurens, SC; as well as two nieces and three nephews, aunts and uncles.
