Wendy Beard Rhodes

Wendy Beard Rhodes, age 65, of Horseshoe Lake Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wendy was born September 22, 1954, to the late Walter Evans Beard and Virginia Dare Cook Beard. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Dwight Rhodes; four brothers, Jimmy Beard, Sr., Jerry Beard, Sr., Darrell Beard, and Randy Beard, Sr.; a sister, Diane Burgess; and a grandson, Ian Robert Maddox. She worked in textiles as a spinner for North Carolina Spinning.
She is survived by daughters, Dawn Maddox, and wife Nikkie, of Wilmington, and Stacy Phifer, and husband Chris, of Crouse; five grandchildren, Matthew Maddox, Jayden Maddox, Garrett Maddox, Evan Johnson Phifer, and Emilee Johnson Phifer; and three sisters, Linda Isenhour, Joyce Saine, and Dora Rinck.
