Judie Hill Saine
( March 5, 1947 - February 16, 2020 )
Mrs. Judie Rebecca Hill Saine, age 72, was in her home, surrounded by family, as she passed from faith into sight on February 16, 2020. Her funeral will be held at Bethphage Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, NC on Wednesday, February 19 at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethphage Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Saine was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on March 5, 1947 to the late William and Margaret Hill. She graduated from Sacred Heart College and married Carl Saine Jr. Together, they farmed and raised three sons. Mrs. Saine’s hobbies included collecting antiques, sewing, cooking, reading, and participating as an active member of Bethphage Lutheran Church. She will be most remembered for her steadfast and passionate devotion to the service of children. Mrs. Saine was a teacher at Maiden Elementary from 1987 to 1993 and was honored as Catawba County Teacher of the Year. She was dedicated to serving youth at church, in the school system, and in the greater community. Children loved “Miss Judie”and her benevolence has impacted countless young lives.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Saine was preceded in death by her infant son Carl Andrew Saine III and brother William H. Hill Jr. Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 51 years, Carl A. Saine Jr., and siblings Elaine Howe (husband O’Neal), Bonnie Jenkins, and Kathy Hill (wife Brenda). She is also survived by her son David Saine (wife Rae) and grandson Drew Saine, her son Rusty (wife Kelly) and grandchildren Sadie Norris (husband Dylan), Chloe Saine, and Andy Saine as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
