Randy Harold Prater
( October 3, 1956 - February 4, 2020 )
Randy Harold Prater, age 63, of Iredell Heights in Iron Station, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He finally made it to his heavenly home, after a year long battle with brain cancer.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at Dallas Church of God with Rev. Danny Shortridge and Rev. Carl Fosdick officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Prater was born October 3, 1956 in Lincoln County to Dorothy Reynolds Prater and the late Joyce “Joe” Prater. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother, Phil Prater. Mr. Prater was a truck driver/warehouse worker,
Survivors include his wife Reba Prater of the home; two sons, Kyle Prater and wife Anna of Lincolnton, Travis Prater and wife Laura of Lincolnton; one brother, Scott Prater of Lincolnton; three sisters, Donna Thomas and husband Richard of Lincolnton, Sandra Moore and husband Jimmy of Lincolnton, Tammy Shrum and husband Marty of Lincolnton; mother, Dorothy Prater of Lincolnton; grandchildren Beckett Prater and Anniston Prater; one very special niece, Emily Walker; eight nephews; fifteen great nieces and nephews.
