Robert Cashion Jetton

Robert Cashion "Bob" Jetton, age 93, of Story Street in Lincolnton died on Saturday, January 18, 2020.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham and Rev. Bob Wise officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Jetton was born March 23, 1926 in Lincolnton County to the late Joe and Vair Warlick Jetton.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Story Jetton, one brother, Bill Jetton; one sister, Jeanette Dedmon Smith; two nieces, Brenda Jetton Parker and LaGare Jetton Williams.  Mr. Jetton enlisted in the United States Army when he was 16 years old. He was a World War II veteran having served with General Patton’s 3rd Army in Germany.  He was the owner-operator of a gas tank and piping installation company.  Mr. Jetton was a 23 year veteran of the Lincoln County Sherriff’s Department and worked for the City of Lincolnton Police Department.  He also served as a Lincoln County Magistrate.

He is survived by one brother, Jim Jetton and wife Dot of Virginia; four nephews, Roby Jetton and wife Linda, Ronnie Dedmon and wife Patti, Nathan Jetton and Randy Jetton and wife Donna; four nieces, Linda Jetton Poovey and husband David, Paula Jetton Brown, Rebecca Jetton Robinson and Amy Jetton; numerous great nieces and nephews including special niece, Kathy Jetton; and his little dog, Angel”.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his faithful caregivers, Becky Ford and Kitty Wray.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boger City Baptist Church, 2201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
