Barbara Moore McConnell
( May 18, 1939 - December 19, 2019 )
Barbara Moore McConnell, age 80, of Greenwood Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham and Pastor Robert Redding officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. McConnell was born May 18, 1939, in Lincoln County, to the late John Walter Moore and Genevieve Hovis Moore. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis McConnell; a son, Louis Todd McConnell; and two brothers, John Michael Moore, and Walter Gary Moore. Barbara was a devoted wife who spent her days working beside her husband, and son, at McConnell’s Automotive. She was a loving mother and Nanny who loved her family with all she had. Barbara was a long-time member of Boger City Baptist Church. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher spending every Sunday in the nursery working with the children. Barbara will certainly be missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie M. Spake of Lincolnton; daughter-in-law, Darlene McConnell of Lincolnton; a sister, Ann Dellinger (Robert) of Crouse; three grandchildren, Lauren Putnam (Bradley), Andrea Dellinger (Brandon), and Brent McConnell (Katie), all of Lincolnton; six great-grandchildren, Kirsten Putnam, Braylon Peach, Kamryn Putnam, Karsyn McConnell, Colt Dellinger, and Charlee McConnell, all of Lincolnton; and sister-in-law, Linda Moore.
Memorials may be made to Boger City Baptist Church, 2201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
