Calvin Jackson Nantz, Sr.

Calvin Jackson Nantz, Sr., age 86 of Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Nantz was born November 12, 1933, in Lincoln County, to the late Claude Sherman Nantz and Fannie Wingate Nantz. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Calvin J. “Jack” Nantz, Jr. He graduated from Lincolnton High School and then attended the Citadel. From there, he joined the United States Army, and then retired from Cochrane Furniture.
He is survived by his wife, Grace “Bunny” Lockman Nantz of the home; a daughter, Teresa Nantz Mooney (Paul) of Cherryville; daughter-in-law, Vicki Wells Nantz of Lincolnton; grandson, Calvin J. “Trey” Nantz, III (Melissa) of Fort Mill, SC; a sister, Virginia Nantz Houser (Bill) of Lincolnton; a brother, William “Bill” Nantz (Phyllis) of Cherryville; a number of nephews; and one niece.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
