Karen Boston Byers

Karen Boston Byers, age 52, of Seagletown Road in Vale, died on Sunday, September 15, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Gainsville Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Devine, Rev. Brad Painter, and Rev. Brandon Heavner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will take place from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Karen was born October 19, 1966, in Lincoln County, to Ronald and Faye Reynolds Boston. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ray Boston; and grandparents, Guy and Dallas Boston, Wiley and Frances Smith. She had previously worked as a hair stylist, and worked in the Lincoln County School System, and later as a CNA in home health care.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Byers of the home; a son, Rusty Byers and wife Jamie of Vale; a daughter, Harley Elizabeth Byers of Vale; her parents, Ronald and Faye Boston of Crouse; a sister, Annette Heavner and husband Kevin of Lincolnton; a grandson, Colton Byers; special friends of the family, Kristen Davis, Jordan McCurry, and many other friends and family who gave us comfort.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation of NC, 933 Louise Avenue, Suite 101B, Charlotte, NC 28204.
