Lottie Junie Scronce Grigg

Lottie Scronce Grigg, age 81, of 3495 Wyant Road in Vale, died on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Prichard officiating.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Lottie was born August 26, 1937, in Lincoln County, to the late Marshall and Lovie Smith Scronce.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Scronce Phillips.  Lottie worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 32 years before retiring. Recognized as the first female letter carrier in the Charlotte region, she also received the “Million Mile” safe driving award.   

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Gambini and Glenda Sue Grigg, both of Vale; a son, Edmond “Eddie” Andrew Grigg, Jr., and wife Melody and their son, Marshall, of Vale; a brother, Troy Scronce, and wife Shirley, of Crouse; grandchildren, Jessica Helda, and husband Eric, of Cornelius, and Andy Grigg, and wife Naomi of Lincolnton, and their mother, Lottie’s daughter-in-law, Debbie Grigg.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church, 4018 Killian Road, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
