Betty Jo Stamey Keener
( January 26, 1936 - August 1, 2019 )
Betty Jo Stamey Keener, age 83, of Rock Creek Drive in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, August 1, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Yount officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Betty was born January 26, 1936, in Lincoln County, to the late Andy and Ethel Ramsey Stamey. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Neal Keener; and two brothers, C.A. Stamey and Jim Stamey. She worked as a beautician for 63 years, and was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Robbie Denise Keener of the home; a son, Todd Keener, and wife Tammy, of Lincolnton; a sister, Jan Beal, and husband Earl of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Caleb Keener, and wife Eva, and Noah Keener; great-granddaughter, Caroline Keener; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Hospice of Lincoln County for the care they gave to Mrs. Keener and her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, PO Box 441, Lincolnton, NC 28093, Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
