Carolyn Rash Smith

Carolyn Rash Smith, age 78, of Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:15 until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Smith was born June 17, 1940, in Gaston County, to the late Fred Jennings Rash and Mary Sue Yarboro Rash. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Merlyn Ray. Carolyn was a registered nurse and was a very active member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Franklin Smith of the home; two sons, Nathan Smith, and wife Janet, of Galax, VA, and Jeff Smith, and wife Lisa, of Lincolnton; a brother, Norman Rash of Lincolnton; a sister, Mary Sue Scronce of Lincolnton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the missions of The United Methodist Women at Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 676, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
