Kenneth Eugene Ray
( August 9, 1931 - March 27, 2019 )
Kenneth Eugene Ray, age 87, of Wildale Lane in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Kenneth was dedicated to his family, friends and his country.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors. Chaplain David Crumpton will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Ray was born August 9, 1931, in Lincoln County, to the late Robert Lamarr Ray and Cora Lee McCoy Ray. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving step-mother, Willie Reep Ray; two brothers, Robert Arthur Ray and Lamar Lee Ray “Bud”; and two sisters, Evelyn Ray Sanders and Vickie Ray Turner. He retired from the United States Army after twenty-one years during which he served in the Korean War, and then retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Stiles Ray of the home. Step-son Michael Haynes of Lincolnton. He is survived by three sisters, Jane Bronowicz of Lincolnton, Georgia West of Cherryville, and Iotha Parker of Davidson.
