Geneva Alice Painter Proctor
( June 3, 1926 - March 4, 2019 )
Geneva Alice Painter Proctor, age 92, formerly of Lincolnton, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, at Presbyterian Home of Hawfields, Mebane, North Carolina.

She was born June 3, 1926, in Lincoln County, to Ed Painter and Mary Texana Cash Painter.

Geneva grew up in Pumpkin Center in Lincoln County. She attended Asbury Elementary School in Boger City and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1943. She was a member of Boger City United Methodist Church in Lincolnton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, A.R. (“Smack”) Proctor; son, Don Proctor; brother, Olen Painter; and three sisters, Dorothy Painter, Bertie Drum, and Mary Abernethy.

She is survived by one daughter, Rita Proctor of Chapel Hill; one sister, Wilma P. Howard; one brother, Elliott (“Popeye”) Painter, many nieces and nephews, and one granddog, Holly.

The Proctor family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to special nurse and “daughter,” Cynthia Cousin, and the entire Hawfields staff for the loving care and support they provided over the last five years.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Hollybrook Cemetery, 302 Hollybrook Avenue, in Lincolnton with Rev. Ron Perry officiating.

The family will receive friends at a reception following the Graveside Service from 12:00 pm to 1:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall of Boger City United Methodist Church.
