Wilford Clyde Wehunt
( April 21, 1927 - March 2, 2019 )
Wilford Clyde Wehunt, age 91, of Carolina Care in Cherryville and formerly of N. Flint Street in Lincolnton, died on Saturday March 2, 2019.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Bethel  Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Hensley officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m.  at the church.

Mr. Wehunt was born April 21, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Ralph and Bryte Taylor Wehunt.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stowe Wehunt and Carroll Wehunt.  He was the owner and operator of Wehunt’s Esso service station.

Mr. Wehunt is survived by his wife, Dorothy P. Wehunt; two daughters, Sherry W. Collins of Belmont and Lynn Sigmon of Hickory; two sons, Dennis Willis and wife Revonda of Maiden and Randy Willis and wife Michelle of Vale; nine grandchildren, Brad Collins and wife Shelley, Vance Collins and wife Gina, Alisa Herman and husband Justin, Kristin Sipe and husband Andy, Ryan Willis and wife Rachael, Kyle Willis, Sara Peeler and husband Josh, Hannah Simmons and husband Jacob, Lance Sigmon; eleven great grandchildren.
