Joel Dean Finger

Joel Dean Finger, age 79, of Long Shoals Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, February 21, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Ingle officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 at the church.
Joel was born November 4, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late Lester and Mary Propst Finger. He was retired from Duke Power where he worked as a transmission lineman.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Leonhardt Finger of the home; children and grandchildren, Dana Ellenburg (Tobie) of Hickory, Tina Kennedy (Brad) of Lincolnton, Anessa Avery (Trey) of Lincolnton, Jason Finger (Tricia) of Newburgh, IN, Josh Finger of St. Thomas, USVI, Grace Avery of Lincolnton, Savannah Finger of Newburgh, IN, and Zach Avery of Lincolnton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long Shoals Baptist Church, 2988 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
