Susan "Susie" Lee Burgess
( May 3, 1982 - December 15, 2018 )
Susan “Susie” Lee Burgess, age 36, of 1421 Highway 73, Iron Station died Saturday, December 15, 2018.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Susie was born on May 3, 1982 to Randy D. Burgess and Lou Melvin Burgess. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Walt and Marie Burgess. Susie loved working as an adult volunteer at our local hospital. Thank you for embracing her. Susie’s other great passion was music, in particular Home Free. Susie loved her medical team, Dr. Scott McLanahan, Dr. Moorefield, Dr. Gasak, and Dr. Kanelley for the great care they provided we are grateful. It is our hope that Susie touched your life as a Child of God.
Susie is survived by her parents, Randy and Lou Burgess of the home; two sisters, Emily Burgess of the home and Rebecca Burgess of Raleigh; grandparents, James Melvin III and wife, Barbara of Gastonia; three uncles, Bill Burgess and wife, Vicki of Lincolnton, Scott Burgess and wife, Cheryl of Lincolnton, James A. Melvin IV and wife, Melissa of Gastonia; three aunts, Jean Melvin of Cherryville , Lee Davis of Kings Mountain and Sharon Lineberger of Lincolnton. She was also surrounded by numerous cousins.
