Mattie Lee Smith Sherrill Morgan

Mattie Lee Smith Sherrill Morgan, age 86, of Airport Road in Maiden, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ingle and Pastor Gary Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Anderson Baptist Church cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morgan was born June 23, 1932, in Catawba County, to the late Silas Monroe Smith and Ola Elizabeth Josey Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Oscar Sherrill; her second husband, Jack Morgan; two sons, Roger Sherrill and Gary Sherrill; five brothers, James Wesley Smith, Ray Wilson Smith, Donald Milton Smith, John Henry Smith, and an infant brother; three sisters, Sona Mae Sisk, Mildred Remona Glenn and an infant sister; and a stepson, Alfred Morgan.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Sherrill (Jody) of Coeburn, VA; three daughters, Mary McCaslin (Gary Smith) of Maiden, Barbara Jones (Melvin) of Denver, and Glenda Smith (Mike) of Lincolnton; three stepsons, Lawrence Morgan (Regina) of Maiden, Edward Morgan (Becky) of Hickory, and Scotty Morgan of Denver; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
