Carole C. Branning

Carole C. Branning, age 86, of Port Orange, Florida, and formerly of Plum Lane in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Branning was born March 9, 1932, in Lincoln County, to the late Bruce and Clevie Yarbrough Christopher. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James S. Branning; a brother, Bill Christopher; sisters, Frances Pugh, Beulah Carringer, and Juanita Caldwell. Mrs. Branning was a school teacher.
She is survived by a daughter, Jamie Patricia Mather of Port Orange, FL; three step-sons, Darrell Branning of Tallahassee, FL, Doyce Branning of Winter Haven, FL, and Dolan Branning of Florida; a sister, Martha McNeill of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Long Shoals Baptist Church, 2988 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
