Cecil Arlin Robinson
( December 31, 1927 - July 9, 2018 )
Cecil Arlin Robinson, age 90, of Anderson Mountain Road in Maiden, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Gloryland Baptist Church with Rev. Macon Ballard and Rev. Grover Robinson officiating. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Cecil was born December 31, 1927, in Troup County, Georgia, to the late Rev. James Robert Robinson and Geraldine A. Starnes Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Irene Robinson, and a sister, Dorothy Patty. He served in the United States Army and then had a lifetime career in the textile industry. Cecil was a faithful member of Gloryland Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by three sons, Larry Robinson, and wife Sheila, of Canada, Bruce Robinson and Phillip Robinson, both of Lincolnton; two daughters, Diane Douthit, and husband Arnold, of Mooresville, and Carolyn Oliver, and husband Mike, of Pittsboro, NC; seven brothers, Reed Robinson, Wayne Harris, Frances Harris, Grover Robinson, Mitchell Robinson, Herman Robinson, and James Robinson; three sisters, Janice Gray, Ruby Owens, and Mary Ann Hulsey; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
