Lori Annette Chaffin Plunkett
( January 15, 1963 - June 11, 2018 )
Lori passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, June 11, 2018.  She was 55 years old.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Drum officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lori was a graduate of East Lincoln High School and Appalachian State University.  During college, she worked at Bon Worth in Lincolnton as a sales clerk and after college, she owned and operated a children’s shop, The White Rabbit, in Cornelius.  She had an infectious laugh and was always kind and thoughtful, even as bipolar disease stole her laughter.  She loved cats and they loved her.  She would harbor a stray as naturally as drinking water.  For most of her life, Lori was 97 pounds soaking wet, but one of her favorite pastimes on Sundays and holidays, or anytime she could drop by, was dinner at Mawmaw Chaffin’s.  She loved the food, the conversation and the comradery with her family of cousins.  She was a real contender in Trivial Pursuit, an outstanding outfielder in backyard whiffle ball, and her cartwheels on the beach were beyond compare.  She leaves family and friends with lots of smiles and wonderful memories.

Lori is survived by her oldest sister, Patti Chaffin Dellinger, and husband Lindy.  They have been her lifeline for many years.  She is also survived by one niece, Terra Dellinger Roach, and husband Scott; one nephew, Joseph Dellinger; and two great-nieces, Fallon Roach and Tinsley Roach.  Her parents, Joe and Anita Chaffin, preceded her in death as did her sister, Katherine Denise Chaffin.  Extended family members surviving are aunts Judy Stover, Milly Hord and Debby Chaffin; one uncle by marriage, Jim Poole; and cousins Chip Hord, Steve Hord, and wife Melanie, Jennifer McGuire, and husband Mike, and Abby Hord, Derek Hord, Parker McGuire, Georgia McGuire, and Addy Hord.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Humane Society of Lincoln County, PO Box 23, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
