James Willard Stamey

James Willard Stamey, age 87, of 1158 Tiny Trail in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Leonards Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Stamey was born August 8, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Charles Andrew and Ethel Ramsey Stamey.  In addition to his parents, he was also recently preceded in death by his wife, Tellease Neal Stamey; a son, Donald Andrew “Andy” Stamey; a brother, C.A. Stamey; and his first wife, Corabell Stamey.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then later was the owner/operator of Jim’s Little Giant.

He is survived by two daughters, Evelyn O’Neal Stamey Helms, and husband Samuel, of Maiden, and Vickie Stamey Ingle, and husband Calvin, of Lincolnton; a son, James Randall “Randy” Stamey of Lincolnton; two sisters, Jan Beal and Betty Keener, both of Lincolnton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the C.A.R. E. Team of Leonards Fork Baptist Church, 1462 Leonards Fork Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
