Bettye Carole Murphy

Bettye Carole Murphy, age 85, of Grandview Lane in Lincolnton, died on Monday, May 7, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Devine officiating. Burial will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Ms. Murphy was born April 5, 1933, in Lincoln County, to the late Walter Q. “Bish” Fortenberry and Edith Sherrill Fortenberry, and siblings Landon, Bob and Kenny Fortenberry. She was formerly married to Bill Murphy. Bettye worked at the Senior Center in Lincolnton.
She is survived by two sons, Billy Murphy and Danny Murphy, both of Charlotte; three daughters, Debbie Murphy Blalock, and husband Danny, of Iron Station, Patty Murphy and Linda L. Murphy, both of Lincolnton; siblings, Barbara A. Fortenberry and David C. Fortenberry, both of Lincolnton, and Jim Fortenberry of Iron Station; four grandchildren, Josh Williams, Shannon Williams, Megan Murphy, and Casey Murphy; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
