Jean Huss Hoyle
( January 29, 1927 - May 4, 2018 )
Jean Huss Hoyle, age 91, of the Brian Center, and formerly of Hulls Grove Church Road in Vale, died on Friday, May 4, 2018.

Jean attended Reeps Grove Church for 70 years where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School for years and was always there when the doors were open.  She also sang with the Golden Voices many years, was also a representative for AARP, was in ECU and attended the senior’s organization. She volunteered for six years at North Brook Elementary School and six years at Blackburn Elementary School when she retired.  Jean was an avid poetry writer and was previously published in a book.

Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Fulker officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  Pallbearers will be the grandchildren, Andrew Hoyle, Bobby Sain, Ryan Hoyle, Teran Metcalf, Danielle Brown, Chasity Setzer, and Chelsea Hoyle; and honorary pallbearer, Robbie Setzer.

Mrs. Hoyle was born January 29, 1927, in Lincoln County, to the late Oscar Lee Huss and Mary Edith Wise Huss.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Hoyle; sisters, Pansy Dellinger, Lorene Hamrick, and Janie Hammett; brothers, Glenn Huss and Lee Huss; and a grandson, Anthony Hoyle.  She was retired from Hickory Manufacturing.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Townsend, and husband Bill, of Vale; two sons, Darrell Hoyle, and wife Carolyn, of Dallas, TX and Carroll Hoyle, and wife Donna, of Newton; a brother, Reid Huss of Cherryville; seven grandchildren, Andrew Hoyle, Danielle Brown, Chasity Setzer, Teran Metcalf, Bobby Sain, Ryan Hoyle, and Chelsea Hoyle; and nine great-grandchildren, Cassie Setzer, Katie Setzer, Carlie Setzer, Jack Hoyle, Liam Hoyle, Zoe Brown, Xander Brown, Vincent Brown, and Tessa Metcalf.
